Library Events and Programs for September
Director's Corner
The Library’s focus on the theme of Peace is rather timely as our world experiences more genocide and tension in the Middle East.  What can we learn from history?   Hearing the personal experience of Chanty Jong on September 3 will certainly provide a powerful narrative of Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge.  How can we take those lessons to make our world more at peace for our children and grandchildren?  Perhaps Jeremy Gilley: Peace One Day will spark a meaningful discussion and a groundswell of determination to make our world more peaceful.  Your library is a place to explore history and make sense of the world.  It is a place to meet your neighbors and discuss what is important to you and your families.  Come visit and join in the discussion and let your views be heard.  September offers many opportunities to learn something new and think deeply about the experiences of humans around the world.  Be sure to join us for some or all of the first person experiences and spend the month learning something new!
