Emily Austin
Emily is the author of Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead and Interesting Facts About Space. Originally from St. Thomas, her background includes work in libraries, teaching and working as an information architect. Everyone In This Room was long listed for the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour and was a finalist for the Ottawa Book Awards. Interesting Facts About Space has been nominated for the 2025 Forest of Reading Evergreen Award. We are extremely excited to have Emily joining us to discuss her newest novel, We Could Be Rats.
Deepa Rajagopalan
Born in Saudi Arabia, Deepa moved to India as a child and the later to Canada in her twenties. Her writing has appeared in literary magazines such as Rhe New Quarterly, Room Magazine and The Quarantine Review. Her short story Peacocks of Instagram won the 2021 PEN Canada New Voices Award. She is currently working on her first novel, We Have Come Empty Handed.
