Tour of the Universe - Cobourg Library
Tuesday, July 2nd
Show Times Between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Tour constellations, the Northern Lights, and go on a thundering rocket launch into Earth orbit before visiting planets, moons, comets, stars, black holes, and galaxies.  Everyone welcome.
Be advised that the planetarium dome uses floor seating.
If you have mobility concerns and require accommodation, please note this at the time of your registration.  
Each show lasts 20 minutes.  
Please book the time slot you would like to attend.  
Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian if attending.

Wednesday, July 17th - 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Drop by the Rotary Room to purchase delicious desserts and great books donated by our patrons and support the Library!  While supplies last.
All proceeds raised will go directly towards enhancing our collection.

Kid Librarian Program - All Locations

We are looking for Cobourg Public Library members who like to read and who would like to share their favourite books with the community, by creating a special Kid Librarian book display. 
Ages 6-12 years.  Youth Services Department
How To Apply: Submit an online application form:

The application will ask for your name, age, contact information, when you are available to create a display, and for a list of some of the junior fiction and/or junior non-fiction titles that you would like to share. Applicants will be randomly selected to become the next Kid Librarian. 
Beach Camper Craft - Take & Make Kit

Each week, the Gurus will post a new genealogical tidbit, historical resource, photo or database – and encourage members to post their thoughts or some interesting resources to share of their own.  Join the conversation on Facebook
Just For Kids - Over 12,000 titles to watch!
Keep the young (and young at heart) in your home entertained and learning this summer with these fun, educational videos.  
For the younger viewer, there is an Early Learners section or watch as your favourite books and stories are brought to life!  
Older kids can explore our world, explore nature, dive into history or learn about science.  There are even videos about Outer Space
including Astronaut training, Life beyond Earth, Asteroids, Journey to the Moon and more!  There are space-themed videos for the younger kids too, like: Space Dreamers, Space Puppies, and the series of "I Wonder" videos about space!  You can create your own profile, choose the subjects you are interested in, and receive an email when new content is added.  When logged into your profile, you can playlists of videos (that will play one after the other) or a folder for titles you want to watch later.

We are proud to be a distribution and donation point for The Period Promise which is a collaborative effort between United Way and Thrive Northumberland to help eliminate period poverty. If you're interested in donating period products or are in need, please talk to staff or head to one of our washrooms.
You can drop off your period product donations to our Cobourg Branch.  
Led locally by Thrive Northumberland and Northumberland United Way. Each donation will be used to provide access to period products throughout Northumberland.
