How the Cobourg Public Library has evolved to serve you over the last 30 years
Reading Room
On Chapel Street, the Reading Room offered two tables with access to magazines and newspapers (on bamboo rods). The move to Ontario Street brought a large sunny, spacious room with more seating and tables. In 2005, the room was divided, to provide a space for a Young Adult area. By 2015, the room was opened once again, with cozy chairs and sofas. Today, the room is home to not only magazines, but our Adult Jigsaw Puzzle collection. It is a meeting place, the area our Chess Club meets each Tuesday, and a space utilized by students & tutors. Adapting to meet the needs of the community.
Visit your library and register for the TD Summer Reading Club! Read any library book at your reading level and report back to library staff with an oral, picture, or written report. Each book report gives you a chance to win our end of summer prizes!
