Art Break Day

Join us in Ryan Park to take an art break! Families and people of all ages are welcome to add to our community mural. We will be painting and stenciling on a large canvas using acrylic paint. No registration is required for this event.

Baby Sign Language Storytime

Monday at 10:30am on the following dates: 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, & 10/1 Learn how to use American Sign Language to communicate with your baby (birth - 18 months old) and jumpstart your child's verbal skills. The workshop consists of activities and songs that can help you integrate simple signs into your daily life. This special series of baby storytimes is presented by Teri Vorhees of Happy Baby Signs. No registration is required for this event.

Preschool Dance Party The 1st Wednesday of the month at 10:30am on the following dates: 10/3, 11/7, 12/5, 1/2 Family Dance Party The 4th Wednesday of the month at 7pm on the following dates: 9/26, 10/24, 11/28, 12/26, and 1/23 Join us for family friendly music and movement activities and stories! Singing is a great way to develop language skills in young children. We will sing, dance, play with instruments, and tell movement stories. No registration is required.

Join us after school for casual board game playing. Kids age 5 - 12 are welcome to join the fun. Lots of games will be available for children to play together: Bananagrams, Spot It, Jenga, chess, card games and much more. Game activities will not be organized. No registration is required for this program.

Children of all abilities are invited to attend our inclusive storytime. This is a special storytime that is meant to cater to children of differing abilities and is amended to make it a sensory friendly experience. We will do sensory friendly activities and stories for thirty minutes. No registration is required for this event.

Talk Like a Pirate Storytime

Join us on Talk Like a Pirate Day for a special pirate themed storytime. Kids age 3 - 12 are welcome to attend and are invited to wear their pirate costumes if they wish. We will read pirate stories, sing pirate songs, and have a treasure hunt for special pirate prizes.

The 3rd Monday of the Month at 6pm 9/17, 10/15, 11/19, 12/17, and 1/21 Children who are currently in first grade are invited to join a monthly book club to practice their reading skills. We will meet on the third Monday of each month to discuss a book we’ve read at home beforehand. We will discuss the book, read sections aloud, play a game, and have a small snack. Poetry and Speech Recital

All students from mid-peninsula schools are welcome to recite poems, speeches, or prose selections in front of other students, family and guests. All speakers who would like their names and selections to appear in the recital program must submit (titles or copies of) the piece(s) they intend to present to mmtr@yahoo.com. Students are required to memorize their selection(s) and are encouraged to practice their presentation skills in order to provide appropriate emphasis, dramatic effect, etc. There is no charge for participation in this event, although parents are requested to bring a board game for student enjoyment following presentations.
