2020 State Annual Report Counts

The Division of Library Development (DLD) has provided guidance for reporting statistics for the 2020 State Annual Report (SAR), to be completed in February 2021, as they relate to counting programs and hours open. This is not reflective of the reality of delivering library services in the COVID-19 era. DLD recommends that all online programs offered and attendance at these programs be counted as well as counts for other services delivered remotely, regardless of the current annual report instructions.  To read the full text from DLD visit the RCLS website.

Check Out Your Community’s
Response Rate
Do you know how many households in your community have completed their Census? This map is updated each day with self-response rates to give you a quick look at how many people have responded to the Census. Counties in the RCLS service area range from 18.8% to 43.9% response rates currently. If you want to push your community’s response rates up, try using some social media messages from the 2020 Census Media Tool Kit.

Promote Online Events

Member libraries that are interested in promoting and sharing their online classes and events across a wider platform are all invited to use the FindNYCulture.org website, which was created by the Office of Cultural Education.  Sharing these events statewide could help to extend access to online story times, book chats, and lectures across the state. Visit the RCLS website for information on creating an account and posting events to the site.
