Love My Librarian Award
Nominations are now open for this year’s I Love My Librarian Award. The national award recognizes the outstanding public service contributions of librarians working in public, school, college, community college, or university libraries. Ten librarians will be selected to receive $5,000 as well as be honored at the virtual I Love My Librarian Award ceremony during ALA’s Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits. Help spread the word about the award in your local area with our free promotional tools: digital graphics, sample social media copy, a template press release, and newsletter copy. Nominations close November 9, 2020.

2020 Summer Reading Program Survey
It's here!  The 2020 Summer Reading Survey.  Every library must submit one survey.  Before  completing the survey here are some important bits of advice:
  • Read the instructions. They are long, but include important definitions; such as what counts as a virtual program, and where to count take-and-make kits.
  • If you did not track something or a question does not apply to you, N/A is always an option.
  • Another survey will be sent (hopefully soon) that will ask for anecdotes of what you did this summer, how you adapted your services, and more.
  • Your numbers will look different than in previous years. Please do not be discouraged - this is to be expected across the state and country.  All of you adapted quickly and came up with summer programs that were completely different than anything you've done before.  That is something to be proud of.
  • Print your survey before submitting it, as you will need this information for the annual report.
This survey is due October 2.  If you have any questions please contact Joanna Goldfarb, at 845-243-3747, ext. 240 or jgoldfarb@rcls.org.
