Orangeburg Library Collects Hundreds of Items for the Center for Safety and Change!
Thank you to all who donated to the Great Give Back program. Hundreds of items were collected and delivered to the Center for Safety & Change. "We were overwhelmed with your generosity especially the teens who serve on the Teen Advisory Board. Rose Memorial Library hosted a Children's Book Character Pumpkin Contest
Rose Memorial Library hosted a Children's Book Character Pumpkin Contest in October. Families were provided with a foam pumpkin and they had time to create their favorite characters and then return them to be displayed at the library . Staff members voted for their favorites in the 2 age groups. It was not easy to decide as all of the pumpkins turned out fabulous. Winners were awarded Amazon gift cards .
Albert Wisner Public Library Gives Back
The Great Give Back which took place on Saturday, October 16th was the jumping off point for a six month recycling program that 11 area libraries and one local High School are participating in. From now until April 22nd - Earth Day - each of these libraries will be collecting hard to recycle items from 3 product categories that will be made into new products. The collected items will be shipped to TerraCycle, a company that's working to "eliminate the idea of waste". The program is being assisted by the following organizations: RCLS, Sustainable Warwick, Green Future, and SUNY Orange. Additional information can be found here.
Florida Public Library Great Give Back
Florida Public Library wrapped up their Great Give Back 2021 with a variety of special dietary items for the Florida Community Food Pantry.
RCLS Professional Development Scholarship
The Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS) Professional Development Scholarship seeks to improve the skills and abilities of member library staff who wish to attend a management program or course but are unable to do so due to budgetary constraints. Four (4) Scholarships will be offered each year, two (2) in the Spring and two (2) in the Fall. For more information click here.
The RCLS Board Meeting will take place in person, on Monday, December 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the RCLS Headquarters located on 619 Route 17M Middletown, NY 10940.
