WELCOME OUR NEWEST RCLS STAFF MEMBER! We are excited to announce that Danielle DiStefano has joined the RCLS team as our new Personnel & Finance Coordinator Contact her at danielle@rcls.org Some of you may know Danielle from her previous position at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Library in Monticello where she began as a Library Page. She was there for 6 years, working with the staff on multiple projects and bonding with the community. She stepped away to explore other career aspects and then returned to EBCPL just in time to take the mantle of Library Assistant from a retiring employee. For the past 8 years, she worked closely with EBCPL's director, Mary Paige Lang-Clouse, learning all of the intricacies of not only working in the library, but also the running of one. From maintenance management to payroll, from library space reservations to grant project management -- she undertook many varied duties -- with the opportunity to learn different tasks. She is looking forward to bringing the knowledge she gained and learning even more at RCLS HQ, as well as continuing her support for libraries! On a personal note, Danielle shares: When I am not working, I can be found creating art in just about any sunny nook for me and my husband's new business, Fantasy Landing LLC. I can also be found in my kitchen, prompted into another baking experiment with my 6-year-old daughter (Emberly the Baker/Veterinarian/Artist), or making maki rolls with my son (Rowan the Chef/Monster Car Driver), or collecting cuddles with my other son (Soren the Snuggler/Astronaut). I am also a member of the PTO Fundraising Committee with my children's school. Let's just say I live by the saying, 'Time is relative'.

This holiday season consider thrifting your gifts! This is a great way to reduce waste and help out your wallet. Visit local thrift stores and bundle together items your loved ones will enjoy. Did you already purchase gifts? Try wrapping them in reusable cloth instead of wrapping paper! Pick out patterns each member of the family will like and reuse it every year.
