Paper Making for Kids with Heather Kort Saturday, May 10 10 - 1 PM Cost: $10. Registration and payment required here.Ages: 7+ This is a drop-off event or a caregiver(s) can attend without registering as another participant IF they do not do a separate project. In this exciting class, learn about the history of papermaking while making your own paper from scratch! This process is fun and forgiving, allowing us to get messy and feel the materials, which is the teacher's favorite way to work. Students will rip, soak and blend scrap papers into a slurry, use deckles to scoop and strain, and then press their paper onto cotton sheets. The paper will need to dry before being used, but there will be dry homemade paper available at the workshop for students to use. Students may return to the library to pick up their finished paper the following week! What will you make out of your homemade paper?
