Carlise Azmitia is a fiber artist, classical art instructor and native of the Hudson Valley. She regularly travels the region to share her love for all things creative and to teach classes. Carlise is the owner of her studio, the Hudson Valley Atelier, where she also teaches.

Art Therapy: The Creative Process: Artist Talk with Maria Lupo

The talk will include a brief overview of the art therapy field, historically and professionally and its connection to the field of mental health today as part of the recent movement in Neuro-Arts. The workshop will include creating a personal mandala to unlock the unconscious and initiate a mindful practice to continue in one’s daily life.
 
A nationally recognized artist and Board-Certified Art Therapist, Lupo holds a Master’s of Fine Arts degree, a Post-Masters Specialization in Art Therapy and is a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist holding a second Master’s Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Free Form Wire Wrapped Gemstone Jewelry Class with Janet Baskerville

Learn a method of freeform wire wrapping a tumbled gemstone with silver plated wire. You will have a large assortment of colorful gemstones to choose from. No special skills or tools required, this is a beginner level class.

Jewelry is Janet's passion as she likes the tactile nature of combining various methods of construction, such as forging metal, coppersmithing, beading, resin casting and the inclusion of relic-like found objects and artifacts. Janet also enjoys mixed-media collage and uses paint, paper, fabric, fibers, resin, wood and clay in her work as well.

Maria Lupo's work is influenced greatly by the power of myth and fairy tales to inform and understand my own biographical journey through universal stories and themes. Nataly is an Associate Professor at SUNY New Paltz. Her area of research focuses on the intersectionality between philosophy of mathematics education, aesthetics, and deep ecology and has authored numerous books and articles Tyson has performed and shown his work in several states over the last two decades. His preference for exhibitions are outside the traditional art world, consisting of popup art displays, street performances, and improvisational creative outbursts/situations.
