The Gardiner Library and Wild Ones Mid-Hudson Valley are hosting a native plant sale to complement the library’s pollinator garden. The small plants, called landscape plugs, are much less expensive than container plants and an excellent way to keep costs down while trying out some new plants. Proceeds to benefit the library.
Master Gardeners from Ulster County Cornell Cooperative Extension on site to answer all gardening questions.
Plants are $4 each. Cash or check preferred. Debit/credit available.

The Gardiner Library Board of Trustees is looking to fill an upcoming board vacancy. If you would like to become more involved with the Gardiner Library by providing a safe and supportive environment for staff and patrons, governing library operations, determining policy, reaching out to the community, and fundraising, then a trustee position might be for you! Candidates must be residents or own property in Gardiner. Meetings are held at 5:00 P.M. on the third Thursday of the month in the Gardiner Library Community Room and are open to all. |

Repair Café Gardiner is a free community event where we bring our beloved but broken items, and together, with volunteer Repair Coaches, we fix them. Broken items include small appliances, lamps, clothing, frames, chairs and more. Repair coaches bring their own tools and supplies and offer repairs at no cost. Boundaries: Hard and Soft Art Show by Susan Kraft and Arianne Wack
March 3 - April 28 This exhibition explores the nature of personal boundaries—what we hold within ourselves and how we navigate the world around us. By re-examining these limits, we gain insight into our interactions, constraints, and freedoms. Susan Kraft-Yorke is an artist and writer whose exhibited work explores meditative and trance-like states. Arianne Wack is a painter exploring our experiences and expectations of beauty by focusing on moments when the natural world and the artificial collide. Read more about each artist here. |

Join Mohonk Preserve educators in a hands-on investigation with local aquatic life! Participants will interact with, identify, and gain understanding on how these creatures live and interact in their underwater environment. Participants will investigate the concept of niche as they meet aquatic insects, mollusks, amphipods, annelids, zooplankton and their predators as they explore how clean water plays a vital role in our environment and in our health.

Abacus Pendant Jewelry Class with Heather Kort

This is a drop-off event or a caregiver(s) can attend without registering as another participant IF they do not do a separate project.
Tired of the same old strings and pony beads? Come play with seed beads and metal! Use metal wire, pliers, bench blocks and hammers to cut, bend and pound out "abacus" frames. Choosing from an assortment of colorful seed beads, students will then string rows of seed beads onto thin wires to wrap around their handmade frames. We'll finish by creating a closure at the top of the pendant through which we will thread string or ribbon to make a beautiful necklace! Heather has an AAS in Fashion Design from FIT, a Masters in Art Education, and is certified to teach art in NYS, grades K-12. She taught elementary and high school art for 8 years, and currently teaches Continuing Education art classes through the New Paltz Central School District. |

Writing Workshop with Laurence Carr - Writing the Short Form: Flash Fiction, Micro-Essays, Prose Poems and Memoirs
Meets first Saturdays
12:30 - 1:45 PM Award winning author and publisher, Laurence Carr, will conduct writing workshops concentrating on short forms. Throughout these sessions, writers will gather ideas and subject matter to create pieces of less than 600 words in length. Free-writes from prompts will be given in each session. Pieces will be drafted into finished works over the course of the workshops. Part of each class will also be devoted to specific elements of creative writing: structure, character, world of story, exposition, and other components. Discussions will continue about publishing possibilities. Writers can attend one or more sessions depending upon their availability.

Passes can be reserved in advance.
