Collage Quilting ("Painting with Fabric")
with Cheryl Potter

Sunday, October 18
10 - 4 PM
Cost: $35 Registration required here.
No experience necessary.

“Painting with Fabric” is a layering of fabric for the design, as an art style quilt. Motifs or shapes are cut from a variety of fabrics and combined with other materials, then layered onto a fabric base to create a picture or design. The materials in the collage can be fused, glued or stitched in place as well as painted or embellished with a variety of different mixed media. The collage style can be used on its own to create an entire quilt or become an element in a larger overall design. The benefit of this creative style is that it is less structured than pieced quilts and allows for introduction of mixed media.

Cheryl Potter has been very involved with quilting since the age of 16. She has been teaching for decades with many groups and is very involved with the Wiltwyck Guild. Cheryl is also a very busy longarm quilter.
