Get Crafty for National Library Week
Indulge your creative side and help the library create a colorful, uplifting display for National Library Week, April 6-12th. The library will provide paper "t-shirts" that will serve as a canvas for you to adorn with a drawing, painting, collage, poem, or anything else you can think of that answers the question:
"What do you love about your Library?"
Pick up your "canvas" first thing in March and return your design by April 2nd for display!
Upcoming Youth Poetry Festival
Sullivan County's 5th Poet Laureate Kevin Scot Graham would like to invite students to participate in the next Youth Poetry Festival:
"I am delighted to continue the cherished tradition of our county-wide youth poetry festival. In 2025, we will celebrate the 4th consecutive year of this event, which showcases the creative writing talent of our young citizens. I am truly honored to be hosting it. There is no specific theme for poetry submissions, which is intentional. I want to encourage students to express whatever is on their minds."
- Open to all Sullivan County students grades 6-12
- Poem should be one to two pages maximum
*Deadline for Submissions: March 15th 2025*
1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention official SUPLA recognition certificate awarded in each category grades 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12.
Each honoree will be given the opportunity to read or have their poem read in front of the festival audience.

The library now has Translate Live, an incredible tool that facilitates natural, real-time conversations between people speaking different languages. With two screens, individuals can speak their native language and have it quickly translated and displayed for the other user. Capable of processing over 200 languages and dialects, the library will be empowered to provide services across nearly any language barrier. This device is for use in the library, for communicating with staff, quiet conversation, or language practice.
