"This newest superhero movie manages to provide Brie Larson's return as Captain Marvel, and it also acts as the graduation from Disney+ miniseries star to feature film hero for newcomers Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris. While fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films and shows will find it easiest to understand the happenings of the opening scenes, all viewers will quickly fall into the action and fun that the story provides. The three lead characters work well together in action and character development scenes, but the real driving force of the film is the amazing special effects. The Marvels is a solid addition to the MCU that’s filled with action-packed fight scenes, an impressive cast, and interesting developments for the Marvel franchise."
