The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
has its roots in Ireland, thanks to some greedy Vikings who stole gold, and then the mischievous leprechauns who found it and hid it for themselves. We may not have actual gold here at the library, but our treasures are a lot easier to find. Come have some Irish soda bread and sing Irish pub songs, or find calm by learning some simple meditations, or armchair travel to Greece! More info about special and ongoing programs below. Sláinte!

The Frozen River
by Ariel Lawhon

A gripping historical mystery based on the real-life diary entries of Martha Ballard, an 18th-century midwife who defied the legal system and wrote herself into American history. "A thoroughly engaging, rich story with a murder mystery; secrets, gossip, and hypocrisy; a corrupt judge; a tightly knit community of villagers; women at the mercy of a patriarchal society; and the early stages of a developing justice system following the Revolutionary War. . . Turn the last page, and you will want more of this world she has created." --Historical Novel Society
