Color Your World with a Great Getaway Monday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. or Thursday, June 5 at 10 a.m. Auditorium Whether you have a dream destination or a bucket list of places to see, come learn how to turn your travel dreams into reality at the Color Your World with a Great Getaway workshop at the Lewisville Branch Library. Local travel agent Gale Adouli will talk about destination options, how to customize travel that is suitable for personal goals and budgets, and much more. Come learn how you can color your world with travel.

Glaze Craze: The Ultimate Donut Taste Test Friday, June 6 from 2-4 p.m. Auditorium Color your world with glaze and sprinkles on National Donut Day. Hear a donut story, make a donut craft, and taste donuts from around the community! Food waiver must be signed by parent or guardian. Recommend for children ages 5-12. Registration is required. K-Pop Community Meetup Monday, June 9 at 4 p.m. Auditorium Calling all K-Pop Stans! Lewisville Library is hosting a K-pop Community Meetup. Come hang out with other stans, practice your dance moves, make a photo keychain of your bias, and sample some tasty Korean treats. Trivia and door prizes too! Participants under 18 must have a food waiver signed by parent or legal guardian.

Salsa in the Making Tuesday, June 24 from 1-3 p.m. Auditorium This is the perfect time of year to prepare salsa as fresh, local produce is widely available—whether from your home garden, a farmers' market, or the grocery store. Join us as Virginia Lopez, Family & Consumer Sciences agent from the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, will teach you how. After the presentation, attendees will make their own salsa to sample . Signed food waiver required. Registration required. Learn the basic moves of this beautiful dance form as we bring people of all ages together to promote health, happiness, and community. Suitable for all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Books for Dudes Book Club Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m. Are you a dude who likes to read? Are you a dude who is curious what other dudes are reading? Are you a dude who wants to get back into reading, but doesn’t know where to start? Then the Lewisville Branch Library has the perfect book club for you. Join us as dudes share, discuss, and recommend their favorite books to other dudes. There will not be a pre-set reading list. The group is recommended for dudes, but all are welcome. Cameron Kent, a local author of several books, including The Oak Island Book Club, The Road to Devotion, and others, will be a special guest at the June meeting.

Our monthly Witchy Washy & Whatnot Crafting group is a great way to meet other crafters, and learn to make all sorts of fun projects, many of which include the use of washi tape! June's craft is 3-D floral wall art. Space and supplies are limited to first 12 registrants. The Write Stuff Wednesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. Auditorium The Write Stuff is a peer-to-peer writing group where writers aspiring and published authors of all types can brainstorm, provide feedback, and offer accountability to those seeking to finish their writing projects. The group is facilitated by local writing enthusiast Clay Stuart.

FCPL Lewisville Branch Reading Contest Logs due Dec. 13 Take part our yearlong reading contest for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Bookmarks. The contest has two levels: Beginner and Aficionado. You can choose to read one or both levels. Beginner entries are entered once. Aficionado entries are entered twice, and if both levels are completed, you're entered four times to win. Submit entries by Saturday, Dec. 13. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 15.

Book Babies Little ones will explore board books, fingerplays, and lap-bounce activities to encourage language development, brain stimulation, and socialization. Connect with other parents too! Recommended for children up to 18 months and their caregivers.

Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Through stories and interactive play, toddlers will build language skills and discover new words while exploring letters and sounds. They'll learn with music, picture books, rhymes, and even explore other languages. Recommended for children 18-36 months and their caregivers.

Preschool StorytimeTuesdays at 10 a.m. Preschoolers will develop language and pre-reading skills through stories and songs to help facilitate their growth into successful readers. Recommended for 3-5-year-olds and their caregivers.

Friends Ongoing Book Sale The Friends' ongoing book sale is always open during library hours. Donations welcome. PRICES: Hardbacks - $2 Paperbacks - $1 Children's books - $.50 Movies, music, audiobooks - $2 Magazines - $.25 Become a Friends Board Member The Friends of the Lewisville Library Board is looking for new members. As a board member, you'd take an active role in shaping the future of the organization, allocating funds, fundraising and recruiting new members. If you're looking for a way to volunteer in your community and support the library at the same time, then this is a perfect place to start. The board meets at the Lewisville Branch Library every third Monday at 6:30 p.m. except in July.

You can also join their Facebook page, even if you're not a member. All funds raised by the Friends support the Lewisville Branch Library in many wonderful ways--providing new books, audiobooks, DVDs, library supplies, programs and other much-needed items.
