Pre-K Dino Dance Party Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. Auditorium Little movers will march like mighty T-Rexes, sway like Brontosauruses, and tiptoe like sneaky Raptors while dancing to upbeat, kid-friendly music.
Recommended for ages 3-6. Space is limited. Registration required.

Jurassic Island Tuesday, July 7 at 4 p.m. Auditorium Calling all budding paleontologists! Set up camp on Jurassic Island, uncover a land forgotten by time, and unearth the incredible secrets of the dinosaurs and their ancient ecosystems. Work together to complete dino-themed STEAM challenges while having a blast!

Luke's Entertainment Presents "DinoHearts" Thursday, July 9 at 2 p.m. Auditorium DinoHearts invites children into a dinosaur adventure that combines storytelling, music, and world languages to make learning joyful, memorable, and fun.

Snack Around the World Monday, July 13 at 4 p.m. Auditorium Tweens and teens can sample international treats from a surprise country and discover fun cultural facts along the way. Grey Seal Puppets Presents "A Tangle of Tales" Tuesday, July 14 at 3 p.m. Auditorium Grey Seal Puppets created original puppet theatre, on-camera productions, and custom-built puppets and mascots. Three favorite folk tales from around the world come to life with a touch of the familiar and a taste of the new in A Tangle of Tales.
Recommended for ages 3-10.

Join us for a celebration inspired by the Food Group book series by Jory John. Enjoy games, crafts, and activities that remind kids they’re smart, brave, and totally one of a kind. Recommended for ages 5-10.

Seeds of a Nation: Tracing Colonial Ancestors Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. Auditorium Discover how colonial records can bring your early American ancestors to life. This program will explore how to locate and use land grants, deeds, wills, probate files, and other colonial-era documents to strengthen your family history research. While the focus will be on North Carolina local collections, we’ll also touch on resources from the other colonies to help broaden your search.
Presented by the North Carolina Room of the Forsyth County Public Library.

Books for Dudes Book Club Thursday, July 9 at 6 p.m. Do you like to read? Curious what other people are reading? Want to get back into reading but don’t know where to start? Then the Lewisville Branch Library has the perfect book club for you. Join us to share, discuss, and recommend favorite books in a relaxed and welcoming group setting. There’s no pre-set reading list, so bring whatever you’re currently reading, loving, or wanting to talk about. The group is geared toward men, but all are welcome.

Tai Chi for Beginners Friday, July 10 and 24 at 2 p.m. Auditorium Learn the calming practice of Tai Chi at the Lewisville Branch Library. This form of low-impact exercise and deep breathing is known to reduce stress and improve balance, strength, and flexibility. An exercise waiver is required, and attendees younger than 18 must have a parental/guardian's signature. Registration opens two weeks before the July 10 and July 24 class and is required.

Lewisville Historical Society presents ... "Battle of Shallow Ford: An Exhibition of Words and Watercolors" featuring Rick Jones and Marilyn Ingram Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. Auditorium Enjoy an evening of art and discussion of this exquisite exhibit celebrating America's 250th anniversary. This collection of "watercolors" by master craftsman Rick Jones is accompanied by storyboards and "words" by artist and writer, Marilyn Ingram. The paintings include scenes at the Shallow Ford and nearby battle area, Moravian settlements along the great wagon road, and annual commemoration in Huntsville, NC. In partnership with the Lewisville Branch, the Lewisville Historical Society will present bimonthly to the community on topics ranging from local history to information about historical sites to antiquities. Participants do not need to be members of the society to attend. Free and open to the public.

Belly Dancing for Beginners Friday, July 17 at 11 a.m. Auditorium Get your shimmy on! Put on some comfortable clothes and shoes and join us at Belly Dancing for Beginners. Learn the basic moves of this beautiful dance form as we bring people of all ages together to promote health, happiness, and community. FCPL Lewisville Branch Reading Contest Logs due Dec. 13
Take part our yearlong reading contest for your chance to win a $25 gift card to Bookmarks. The contest has two levels: Beginner and Aficionado. You can choose to read one or both levels. Beginner entries are entered once. Aficionado entries are entered twice, and if both levels are completed, you're entered four times to win. Submit entries by Saturday, Dec. 12. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 14.

Pokémon Club Wednesday, July 1 at 4 p.m. Auditorium Play battle games, meet up with other fans, trade cards, and more at the Pokémon Club. The Lewisville Branch chapter of the club meets every first Wednesday, and the Clemmons Branch Chapter meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Players of all abilities are welcome. Program is recommended for children, teens, tweens, and families.

Friends Annual Meeting The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library. Friends Ongoing Book Sale The Friends ongoing book sale is always open during library hours. PRICES: Hardbacks - $2 Paperbacks - $1 Children's books - $.50 Movies, music, audiobooks - $2 Magazines - $.25 Become a Friends Board Member The Friends of the Lewisville Library Board is looking for new members. As a board member, you'd take an active role in shaping the future of the organization, allocating funds, fundraising and recruiting new members. If you're looking for a way to volunteer in your community and support the library at the same time, then this is a perfect place to start. The next board meeting will be on Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m. The Friends of the Lewisville Library is an independent nonprofit organization and not a department, division, or agent of the County or the Library.
