Fun Fatale Trio Concert Friday, June 7 at 1 p.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium All ages. Enjoy an afternoon of music with the Fun Fatale Trio. The trio entertains with its interpretations of new and old songs by blending vocal harmonies with guitar, fiddle and upright bass.

Mad Science Thursday, June 20 at 2 p.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Ages 5-11. This hands-on workshop will give children a deeper understanding of fundamental scientific principles, spark a sense of wonder and discovery in children, and unlock the door to the captivating world of STEM. The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem: Fairy Tales Retold Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium All ages. Enjoy a retelling of a classic fairy tale. The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem is the oldest theatrical organization in the Piedmont Triad. Audiences young and old have experienced spectacular productions for almost 90 years.

Hook & Loop Group Wednesday, June 5 at 11 a.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Come and join yarn crafters who like to knit, crochet, embroider and such. Share each other’s company and maybe a tip or two about a project. Bring your own project to work on or use some simple supplies and patterns we have on hand. All skill levels are welcome. Learn the basic moves of this beautiful dance form as we bring people of all ages together to promote health, happiness, and community. Suitable for all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Virtual Lunch & Learn Series with the N.C. Cooperative Extension: Eat a Rainbow Tuesday, June 11 at noon Lewisville Branch Auditorium The June program is about the health benefits found in the natural colors of foods. The July program is about the science behind happiness and practical ways to increase it in your life. This is a virtual workshop presented by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension. These are a series of virtual workshops that feature a new topic each month related to Family and Consumer Sciences. Each workshop is part of the 2024 Extension at Home Series: Helping You Improve Your Life, brought to you by a collaboration of N.C. Cooperative Extension Agents and hosted by the Lewisville Branch Library.

Eldercare Series: Understanding Loneliness and Isolation Wednesday, June 12 at 10 a.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium This is part of a series of programs on eldercare presented by the Geriatric Adult Specialty Team (GAST) of Partners Health Management. GAST is charged with increasing the community’s knowledge and understanding of mental health and substance use issues facing older adults. These programs are for the general public as well as for caregivers and those working in care centers needing continuing education credits. Review the full Eldercare series schedule here. Books for Dudes Book Club Thursday, June 13 at 6 p.m. Multipurpose Room Are you a dude who likes to read? Are you a dude who is curious what other dudes are reading? Are you a dude who wants to get back into reading, but doesn’t know where to start? Then the Lewisville Branch Library has the perfect book club for you. Join us as dudes share, discuss, and recommend their favorite books to other dudes. There will not be a pre-set reading list. The group is recommended for dudes, but all are welcome. The group meets every second Thursday at 6 p.m.

Healthy Summer Cooking with Chef Floyd Davis Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Summer is the perfect time to cook on the grill, enjoy some good barbecue, and spend time with family and friends. Make this summer a healthy summer with recipes from the Library’s very own Chef Floyd Davis. In June, Chef Floyd will turn up the heat on the grill with portobello mushroom burgers.

Dungeons & Dragons Meetup Group for Teens and Tweens Monday, June 3 and 17 from 3-5 p.m. Multipurpose Room Have you ever wanted to learn to play Dungeons & Dragons? Are you an experienced player who would like a place to meet up and have adventures? Join the Lewisville Branch Dungeons & Dragons meetup group! We will have an experienced Game Master to teach those who want to learn, and character sheets and dice will be provided. This program is recommended for teens, but all are welcome. Stuffie Sleepover Tuesday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Up to 5 years old. Your little ones and their stuffed animals are invited to the library for Storytime and a craft, then the stuffed animals will have a sleepover at the library. When you pick up your children’s furry friends the next morning, you’ll get photos of their overnight adventures. Space is limited to 12 stuffed animals only. Friends Ongoing Book Sale The Friends' ongoing book sale is always open during library hours. Donations welcome. PRICES: Hardbacks - $2 Paperbacks - $1 Children's books - $.50 Movies, music, audiobooks - $2 Magazines - $.25 Become a Friends Board Member The Friends of the Lewisville Library Board is looking for new members. As a board member, you'd take an active role in shaping the future of the organization, allocating funds, fundraising and recruiting new members. If you're looking for a way to volunteer in your community and support the library at the same time, then this is a perfect place to start. The board meets at the Lewisville Branch Library every third Monday at 2 p.m. except in July .

The Friends are accepting donations of new, used, or broken fashion jewelry. Join the Friends and support your local library. If you'd like to know more about the Friends of the Lewisville Library or how to become a member, please stop by the library to pick up a brochure. You can also join their Facebook page, even if you're not a member. All funds raised by the Friends support the Lewisville Branch Library in many wonderful ways--providing new books, audiobooks, DVDs, library supplies, programs and other much-needed items.
