Black Bear Diner Reading Challenge
Monday: Dec. 23 - Saturday: Jan. 11

Kids 12 and younger, read 4 books, and log them in Beanstack for a free cub's meal at Black Bear Diner
(7005 Knott Avenue location).
 
After you've logged your 4 books, stop by the Children's Desk to pick up your meal voucher. Kids who cannot yet read can be read to.
 
The last day to log reading in Beanstack is January 11, and the last day to pick up meal vouchers is January 31.
While supplies last.

Pajama-rama Storytime

Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday: Jan. 14th at 6:45PM-7:45PM
Children's Fiction Area
Kids 12 and younger, come read to our dog pals in the Children's Fiction Area. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first-come, first-served basis.

SciFri: Science of Flight
Friday: January 17th at 3:30PM

Kids in 2nd-6th grades, learn about different types of aircraft and how they fly. We will briefly cover airfoil design and Bernoulli's principle. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Drop In Craft: Red Envelopes
Tuesday: Jan. 28 - Wednesday: Jan. 29
Children's Room, while supplies last
Giving red envelopes, symbols of good luck for the new year, to family and friends is a common Lunar New Year tradition in many East Asian cultures.
 
Drop in to decorate your own red envelopes, and put a chocolate gold coin and good wishes for your recipients inside. Then, give the red envelopes to your loved ones. Limit 3 envelopes per child. For kids ages 4-12. While supplies last.

Korean/English Bilingual Storytime

Snake Show
Monday: January 27th at 6:30PM
Second-Floor Multipurpose Room
Happy Lunar New Year! 2025 is the year of the snake. Come meet and learn about snakes, including a large boa, and legless lizards from wildlife biologist Rachael Wallman. Fun for the whole family.
 
This program will be held in the Multipurpose Room. A ticket will be required for entry. We will begin distributing tickets at the children's desk at 5:30 p.m. on the day of the program. Seating is limited.
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger.   
Panda Express Reading Challenge
Wednesday: Jan. 29 - Saturday, Feb. 22
Children's Room
Kids 12 and younger, participate in the Panda Express reading challenge. Pick up a reading log at the Children's Desk, and read 5 books for a free Panda Express cub meal. Kids who cannot yet read can be read to/with.

Teen Cafe Study Sesh

Calling all teens in need of caffeine and a study space! 
Bring your friends to the Library and enjoy some cafe style music, a virtual crackling fire, iced and hot tea, and snacks for all your cozy cafe needs.
 
Take study breaks at our de-stressor station equipped with fidgets and other calming activities. Basic study materials and charging outlets will be provided.  
 
No registration required. Ages 12-18, come cram with us!
Teen Tuesdays: New Years Zines

Express yourself with making your own mini magazines (aka zines!) We'll have endless stickers, collage materials, and other pieces for you to get creative with.
