Drop In Craft: Holiday Cards
Monday: Dec. 2nd - Saturday: Dec. 7th
Children's Room, while supplies last
Kids ages 3-12, drop in to make holiday cards for your loved ones. Various craft supplies will be provided. While supplies last. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger.   
Find the Elf on the Shelf
Monday: Dec. 2nd - Saturday: Dec. 21st
Children's Room
Kids 12 and younger, find the Elf on the Shelf somewhere in the Children’s Room. Once you find the Elf on the Shelf, tell the library worker at the desk where you spotted him, and you will get your choice of a sticker or tattoo.
 
The Elf on the Shelf will move to a new location in the Children’s Room every Monday until December 23. Then he will need to return to the North Pole to help Santa. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday: Dec. 10th at 6:45PM-7:45PM
Children's Fiction Area
Kids 12 and younger, come read to our dog pals in the Children's Fiction Area. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first-come, first-served basis. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Korean/English Holiday Storytime
Thursday: Dec. 12th at 6:30PM
Children's Room
Join us for holiday stories and songs in Korean and English. Then, make an ornament featuring... your own face! While supplies last. Space is limited.
 
Fun for the whole family.
 
 No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
SciFri: Hot Wheels Sleigh Race
Friday: Dec. 13th at 3:30PM
Second-Floor Multipurpose Room
Kids in 2nd-6th grades, transform a Hot Wheels car into a sleigh. Make modifications to your sleigh to see how factors such as weight and drag affect its speed. The maker of the fastest sleigh on the track will take home a trophy.
 
All participants will take home their own Hot Wheels sleighs. Space is limited. While supplies last.
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Spanish/English Holiday Storytime
Monday: Dec. 16th at 6:30PM
Second-Floor Multipurpose Room
Come listen to holiday stories in Spanish and English, sing songs, and make a 2-D piñata and tamale ornament.
While supplies last. Space is limited.

Drop In Craft: Miniature Nutcracker
Thursday: Dec. 19th - Saturday: Dec. 21st
Children's Room
Kids ages 3-12, drop in to transform a miniature wooden peg into a miniature nutcracker. While supplies last.
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Black Bear Diner Reading Challenge
Monday: Dec. 23rd - Saturday: Jan. 11th

Kids 12 and younger, read 4 books, and log them in the Beanstack website or free app for a free cub's meal at Black Bear Diner (7005 Knott Avenue location only).
 
After you've logged your 4 books, stop by the Children's Desk to pick up your meal voucher. Kids who cannot yet read can be read to.

Cafe Study Sesh
Tuesday: Dec. 10th, 6:00PM-7:30PM
Second-Floor Board Room
Calling all teens in need of caffeine and a study space! Bring your friends to the Library and enjoy some cafe style music, a virtual crackling fire, lattes from 7 Leaves, and snacks for all your cozy cafe needs.
 
Take study breaks at our de-stressor station equipped with fidgets and other calming activities. Basic study materials and charging outlets will be provided.  
 
No registration required. Ages 12-18, come cram with us!
Teen Holiday Hangout
Tuesday: Dec. 17th, 6:00PM-7:30PM

Celebrate the holiday season with us with festive snacks, games, a hot chocolate bar, and DIY winter snowglobes.

Take-Home Craft Kit:
Mini Winter Tree Garlands
Tuesday: Dec. 10th
Reference Desk, while supplies last
Celebrate the winter season with your own table-top tree and homemade holiday garlands.
 
Each kit will come with a table-top tree and supplies to make miniature garlands. You will need your own glue, scissors, and writing utensil. 
 
Pick up your kit at the Reference Desk starting on Tuesday, Dec. 10th, while supplies last.
