Review a Book for Cone Cash

Children's Room
Kids ages 0-12, stop by the Children’s Room to add a book review to our Here’s the Scoop on These Books wall. We will put your book review up, and you will receive Cone Cash, good for one free single scoop of ice cream at The Original Rainbow Cone in Cypress.
 
Review a book, get some Cone Cash, and enjoy free ice cream in these last few days of summer. Caregivers can write reviews on behalf of very small children.
 
One book review submission per child. Cone Cash available while supplies last.

Public Speaking Workshop
Monday: Sept. 8, 6:30PM-7:30PM

Calling all 1st-6th grade students! Are you interested in practicing public speaking by storytelling?
 
Join us for this interactive workshop led by passionate, nationally recognized speech and debate high school students from QD Learning Speech and Debate Academy. Together, we’ll analyze stories, craft characters, and act out scenes.
 
No registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday: Sept. 9, 6:45PM-7:45PM
Children's Room
Kids 12 and younger, read to a BARK therapy dog. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first come, first served basis. BARK therapy dogs are nonjudgmental listeners and help children who read aloud to them to not only improve their reading skills but also build self-confidence.
 
No registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger.   
Pajama-rama Storytime

Spend time in our Teen Space!
First-Floor Teen Space
Teens can now enjoy their very own space all day at the library! Whether you need a place to study, hang out with friends, make crafts, or just be, please know that there is a free space at the Library reserved just for you.
 
The area is located on the first floor and is reserved for TEENS ONLY (grades 6-12), during ALL library open hours.

Teens Game Cafe

Calling all teens in need of caffeine and a study space! Bring your friends to the Library and enjoy iced tea, and snacks for all your cozy cafe needs.
 
Take study breaks at our de-stressor station equipped with fidgets and other calming activities. Basic study materials and charging outlets will be provided. Come cram with us!

Paint & Sip: Watercolor Galaxies

First-Floor Teen Space
Watercolor was made for painting starry skies, Milky Ways, galaxies, and all things space. With zero experience, you can make a stunning piece of art! Who knew? Themed out beverages will be offered as well. 
 
Come vibe and create with us! **Art can be messy, so do not wear anything you would mind getting paint on.

Take-Home Craft Kit for Adults
Mini Paper Notepad
Starting Tuesday: Sept. 2
Reference Desk
Starting Tuesday, September 2nd, take-home craft kits will be available for pick up at our Reference Desk or via Curbside Service. 
 
Make your own mini paper notepad! Perfect for class, work, or to give as a gift! You will need your own scissors, writing utensil, and maybe a hole punch. Colors and designs of supplies may vary and kits will be available while supplies last.
