Quick and easy book displays
Book displays allow library staff to showcase both their knowledge and their creativity. And honestly they're just plain fun.

For something simple and eye-catching, pull together a display with a color in the title like these. Books on a broad subject (for example, fashion) is another easy option. And you can always zoom in on more refined topics -- if there's an initiative to promote youth volunteerism, set up a display featuring kids who are Real-life Heroes.

One of my favorite displays when I worked in public libraries was for holidays involving presents. All I had to do was "wrap" the outside of a slat board H-unit in shiny paper and add ribbons. After cutting through the paper, I inserted acrylic book holders and loaded them up with books. Easiest.display.ever.

Book displays in NoveList
Did you know that NoveList can help out with making displays? For example, the flyer to the right was created to accompany a book display article in NoveList (UI 441724).

If you want to see a complete list of our display idea pieces, paste "display idea" into the basic search box  (Be sure to include the quotation marks). Each display idea has a printable, and they frequently provides searches or links to more NoveList content.

We have display ideas at the adult, teen, and older kids reading levels (Psst. All of the flyers linked in the top section are from book display articles too).

What are some of your favorite displays?
And I'd love it if you sent in pictures to share!

Print and Post!
