This morning, librarians and media specialists from all over the U.S. gathered in Denver or via webcast to watch the 2018 Youth Media Awards announcements (full list of winners below the video). There were definitely a few surprises this year -- such as two YA books and a picture book in the Newbery Honor line-up!
 
Share the award enthusiasm by posting the Caldecott and Newbery flyers below -- when paired with any of the winning books you've got handy, these flyers make a quick display that can serve as a jumping-off point for readers' advisory. And if your school has a mock awards group, don't miss the opportunity to provoke bookish debate: display the mock winners next to the official winners and encourage students to weigh in!
