Dear friend,

Free access to vibrant libraries that reflect their communities is foundational to living in a healthy place, and residents of Washington County (and our near neighbors) are glad for this. Last month, 59.3% of voters expressed ongoing support by approving the WCCLS levy — thank you!

We at Garden Home and West Slope Community Libraries have experienced an exciting, challenging, and valuable year. Along the way, we have held closely to our three core values of collaboration, kindness, and well-being. We have lived that out in 2025 through a variety of ways:
  • We successfully merged operations, and now share staff and resources to improve quality of service and access to our patrons.
  • Our community outreach includes visits to local senior living communities and public schools.
  • Efficiency has improved by sharing staff to maintain consistent hours, and exchange resources, ideas, and expertise.
While the WCCLS levy support supports the bulk of our efforts, our aspirations exceed that. Your tax-deductible gift means we can:
  • Continue to offer joyful, educational, and engaging programs like storytimes, book clubs, board gaming, creativity and crafting, author talks, puzzle swaps, and so much more.
  • Establish and maintain new community partnerships.
  • Improve our physical spaces to make them as welcoming as possible.

Please join me in investing into the well-being of our neighborhoods.

Happy holidays, and here’s to an exciting new year!

Sincerely,

Kris Moore
