Winter Reading Challenge for All Ages - Jan. 1 - March 31
It's officially winter and we've off our Winter Reading program for all ages. Pre-readers read all ten catergories together. Everyone else read five in a row OR go to full blackout.
Finishers who turn in their logs by March 31 will be entered to win a gift certificate for Annie Bloom's Books or Thinker Toys. Multiple entries are accepted. Pick up a reading log in the library. |

Bitcoin Educational Seminar
Thursday, January 9 6:30-7:30 pm Registration encouraged
Learn about the history of Bitcoin, what it is, how it works and the various benefits such as how it helps the disenfranchised, the environment, and communities. About our speaker: Sydney Bright was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He attended the University of Portland and received a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. He currently works as a Bitcoin consultant, helping families and businesses understand Bitcoin and how to properly take ownership of this new asset.

| Family Storytime Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:00-10:45 am
Every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:00 am, join Garden Home Community Library for a live and in-person storytime. Our books and activities are ideal for kids ages 3-8, and the entire family is welcome to join in the fun. Together, we will read, write, sing, talk, and play-- these are five fun and powerful ways to strengthen the skills that we use when we read.
Lego Club Wednesday, January 8
3:30 – 5 pm
What will you build at the library? School-aged kids and their families are invited to build a Lego masterpiece at our free drop-in program.

Black History 101 Mobile Museum
Saturday, January 4 10 am - 3 pm.
Join Garden Home Recreation Center to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month. Black History 101 Mobile Museum is a nation-wide exhibit and stands as a renowned repository comprising over 10,000 original artifacts, spanning from the painful era of the trans-Atlantic slave trade to the vibrant culture of hip hop. Garden Home Community Library will give away free books written by Black authors featuring Black protagonists and Black history, while supplies last! |
