Did you know there is now a month-long celebration of teen services in libraries? That’s right! Swing by any library branch to participate in TeenTober events throughout the month of October.


TeenTober is an annual, nationwide celebration that aims to promote year-round teen services and help teens learn new skills and fuel their passions inside and outside the library.

Gardening Talks by Washoe County Master Gardeners

Spanish Springs Library

Sunday, September 28, 1 pm

Want to learn more about gardening in Northern Nevada? During this monthly program, graduates of the University of Nevada, Reno Extension Master Gardener program share their knowledge. Each event features three 30-minute presentations. While you’re there, you can visit the Master Gardener mobile help desk between 1 and 4 pm if you need some one-on-one assistance.

Young Blood

Behind the Silver Screen

The Holland Project

Saturday, October 4, 5:30–8:00 pm

Celebrate all the Young Blood artists and their wonderful artwork with a vintage cinema-themed art party. There's a $1 donation at the door and costumes are encouraged.


Young Blood is a biannual group exhibition open to submissions by any regional artist under 21.

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Library Board of Trustees has scheduled a special meeting. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend in person or view on YouTube.


Agendas, minutes, and recordings of past library board meetings are available on the library website.

Changes to Library Board of Trustees Meetings

Do to recent changes, members of the public who wish to make live comments to the board must now do so in person. It is no longer be possible to participate or make public comments via Zoom. 


Community members will still have the option of sending written comments in advance by emailing sschubach@washoecounty.gov. Include subject line "For Public Comment." Email comments must be received by 4 pm on the business day prior to the meeting.


Live meetings will still be available to view online, though they will now be streamed on YouTube. To view, simply visit our YouTube channel at the scheduled meeting time.
