On the Kid's Shelf KUNR

On the Kids' Shelf is a regular feature in partnership with local NPR affiliate KUNR. Catch your favorite librarians every week, sharing their favorite children's books, songs, and activities.


New episodes air on Tuesday mornings during Morning Edition (6:42 and 8:42 am) and Tuesday afternoons during All Things Considered (3:48 and 9:20 pm).

New Hours effective February 23

The Library Board of Trustees recently approved an adjustment to the hours of operation at seven library locations. These hours will take effect on Monday, February 23, 2026.

The Library Board meets regularly on the third Wednesday of each month, usually at one of the library's 12 locations. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend in person or watch live on YouTube.


Agendas, minutes, and recordings of past library board meetings are available on the library website.

Bookmobile Service Paused


Due to staffing changes, Library on the Go bookmobile services have been temporarily paused until early spring. We are committed to resuming service for the spring/summer schedule and look forward to seeing you then. Any materials that have been checked out from the bookmobile may be returned to any Washoe County Library branch.

Friends of Washoe County Library

Due to construction at the Reno Town Mall, book donations cannot currently be delivered to the Friends at their usual location. Please bring your donations to the Sierra View Library instead.
