NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

Drawn to the Library. National Library Week, April 6-12, 2025.

National Library Week is an annual, national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country. This celebration highlights the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.

Here's how you can get involved:

  • Join us on Tuesday, April 8, at 10 am at the Board of County Commissioners meeting, for a proclamation in honor of National Library Week.

  • Is there a librarian you think deserves special thanks for their service? Nominate a Library Star for National Library Workers Day.

  • Help support the library system through donations, volunteer time, or by becoming a member of the Friends of Washoe County Library.

  • Visit a Washoe County Library and pick up a free National Library Week bookmark.

  • Download and read the American Library Association's State of America's Libraries 2025 report.

Visit the American Library Association's website to learn more about National Library Week.
