Give Thanks, Give Food

November–December 2025

Hunger affects our community all year long. You can make a difference by donating nonperishable food items at participating Washoe County Library locations. Food donations benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

Please note: The Downtown Reno and Sierra View libraries are not participating at this time.

New Materials Delays

Recently, the main supplier of books for Washoe County Library System, Baker & Taylor, went out of business. The recent closure has had a significant impact on library systems across the country, including ours, and, consequently, we’ve had to reorder many of our materials.

Our Technical Services department is working hard to find replacement vendors. However, we do anticipate some delays during this transition — new releases will likely arrive later than their publicized release dates, and patron requested material will take longer to arrive than usual.
