 September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when we join the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card. Get a library card and be entered into two prize drawings this September. Library Card Sign-Up Month is an annual initiative of the American Library Association and libraries nationwide. Already have a library card? Refer a friend and you also get entered to win a prize, courtesy of Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS). The WCCLS prize drawing is for mini tote bags and here at Sherwood Public Library, we also have a prize drawing for three $25 gift cards for Sherwood residents getting a library card. |

 Have ideas to make the library even better? The City of Sherwood invites applications for the Library Advisory Board. We have a general position open now for a partial term that ends June 2029. Meetings are held in person with a Zoom option at 6:30 p.m., the third Wednesday of the month. Applicants must reside within city limits of Sherwood. More details and application can be found here. |

Leo's Lobo

Leo is thrilled when he and his family enter a shelter so he can adopt a new pet, but after searching for a while, Leo doesn’t feel the connection he had hoped for and leaves feeling disappointed. On the way home, he and his family see a busy marketplace and find another shelter hidden inside: one for magical creatures! There Leo connects with an alebrije, their bond forming before they can even leave the shelter. But he quickly learns just how much responsibility comes with raising a pet.
