Celebrate the 50th Birthday of WCCLS This Summer!
WCCLS is celebrating their 50th birthday with special events at each library. Join us at Cannery Square on Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. for Sherwood’s party, with music from Andy Z. Enjoy free fun, cupcakes, stickers, community, and more. Mugs will be given as party favors to the first 50 guests.
 
Explore the libraries of Washington County this summer! Pick up a WCCLS Passport at the library and get it stamped at each area library. Collect all 16 stamps and get a commemorative Wallace puzzle while supplies last. Full details for all 50th birthday celebrations at wccls.org.

MINIATURE CASTLE MAKING CONTEST
Just in time for the yearly Sherwood Robin Hood Festival, show off your creativity in our 7th annual Miniature Castle Making Contest! Submit a homemade castle 7 X 7 X 7
inches, or smaller, between July 1 and July 13, and it may be displayed at the library or even win an award. More rules and information at: sherwoodoregon.gov/library.

Build reading confidence and improve reading skills by reading to a dog. The dogs and their trainer will listen with compassion and without judgment as you read to them. Sign up for a 20 minute session. Every month on the second Saturday.

TriMet Summer Pass -- For High Schoolers
We have partnered with TriMet to be a distribution site for its Summer Pass program. High Schoolers can head to Sherwood Public Library to pick up a free Hop card. Go on trimet.org/summerpass to register and load the hop card for free summer use.
NEW Accessibility Tools
We have many new tools at the library to help assist with accessibility needs. We have JAWS* screen reader and TypeAbility* teaching software for blind and low-vision users, in-house computer accessories such as ergonomic mice* and large print and Braille keyboards*, and much more!
 
* Paid for by a notable grant won by Sherwood Library Foundation from the Network of the National Library of Medicine, Region 5 and the National Institutes of Health.
