How Sherwood Library is Funded
Did you know Sherwood Public Library is 99.5% funded with local taxes? Here’s how the money comes in: as a member library of Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS), we receive 64.5% of our funding from WCCLS through the county’s general fund and a local option levy that voters last approved in 2020. The City of Sherwood funds 35% of our operating costs through the City’s general fund. The remainder of our funding is through grants and donations to the Friends of the Library.
