Millions of people across the country visit their libraries each week. What’s the draw? Everything! At Sherwood Public Library, we invite you to visit the library during National Library Week, April 6-12, to explore all we have to offer. This year’s theme is “Drawn to the Library.” Join us for our Open House on Friday, April 11, for cake and refreshments, prizes, and fun activities for all ages! National Library Week is a observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April since 1958. Get ready to explore, become inspired, and connect with others this National Library Week. • Technology petting zoo (and Nintendo Wii U) from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. • Look for “Golden Tickets” each worth $20 hidden in the library. • Games and self-led activities 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Play large versions of classic games, enjoy a coloring table, and share your ideas about the library. Fill up your “idea card” and be entered in a raffle giving away six $10 gift cards to the nearby Symposium Cafe.

We Are Definitely Human
by X. Fang
When three mysterious visitors from "Europe" crash-land in Mr. Li's field, he does what any good host would: he invites them back to his farmhouse and offers to help fix up their "car". No, there's nothing strange about these guests at all. Just like other humans, they "make business", "play sportsball" and "wear hat". As the townsfolk also come to the aid of the visitors and the gathering turns into a little party, interplanetary relations reach an all-time high.

How to Love Better
by Yung Pueblo
Love enters our lives in many forms: friends, family, intimate partners. But all of these relationships are defined by the love we have for ourselves. If we see our relationships as opportunities to be fully present in our healing and learn to love each other better, yung pueblo assures us that we can transform and meet each other with compassion instead of judgment.
