Marblehead Peninsula Writing Group August 5 & 19; 6:00-7:30 p.m. Join the Marblehead Peninsula Writing Group at their bi-monthly (twice per month) meeting! Get feedback on your own writing, provide advice for other writers, and learn more about the craft. This is a supportive group, open to all levels of writers and facilitated by an experienced writing teacher. You don't have to bring any of your own writing to share; all who are interested in writing are welcome. The Lakeside and Marblehead Railroad August 7; 6-7 p.m. Ever wonder why there's a train station in Lakeside and why there are strange raised areas running through Marblehead? Join local historian Dean Fick for a presentation on the Lakeside and Marblehead Railroad, which ran from Sandusky Bay to Marblehead from 1887-1980. No registration required. |
Marblehead Peninsula Coffee Hour August 18, 10-11 a.m. Join us for FREE coffee, tea, and conversation at the Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library. The idea behind the coffee hour is to give Peninsula residents and employees a chance to talk with each other in a comfortable and civil setting. This is an open, free-form conversation. Meet your neighbors! Network with other organizations! Our special guest this month is Jannah Wilson, Park District of Ottawa County. No registration required. |
Origami Gift Box August 20, 11 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Local artist Alice Holly will offer a hands-on program making an origami gift box. Space is limited to 15, registration is required. Registration opens on August 6th. |
Kids' Bug Hunt August 9, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Join us for a CREEPY-CRAWLY time with Erie Metroparks naturalist Katie Burnsworth! Adventurers will be kitted out with a backpack containing bug-capturing-and-identification gear. Then we'll set out from the library to explore the wilds of James Park. Participants get to keep their insect field guide, but all bugs will be released at the end of the program. No registration required. Ages 3+. Parents and caregivers are asked to stay with children under eight. |

Crafting with Magoo Kids: Air Clay Fish Ornament August 16, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Join Magoo (Margaret Warren) to make an Air Clay Fish Ornament. We are going to decoupage clay fish and make them into an ornament, something you can have out all year. No registration required. Ages 3+.
