The Color of Lies - by CJ Lyons Ella Cleary is not normal. She has Synesthesia, which, for her, means she can read people's auras and see their true intentions through the invisible color that surrounds them. Unsure if it's a blessing or a curse, Ella hopes to use her unique skill to create meaningful art as she navigates the world years after her mother's tragic death. Then she meets Alec, a total stranger who does not give off an aura, and who seems to know a lot about her -- maybe too much. When Alec begins questioning her mother's death, Ella struggles to understand his true intentions about the matter, and why he is so curious. The Color of Lies takes a unique perspective on the genre of murder mystery allowing the reader, and Ella, to view strange acquaintances in a new light.
