by Jim Fingal(Adult non-fiction book)
Is it fact, fiction—or something fuzzier in between? The Lifespan of a Fact is a whip-smart, often hilarious tug-of-war between an essayist (John D’Agata) and his fact-checker (Jim Fingal). What starts as a simple magazine piece spirals into a philosophical debate about truth, storytelling, and journalistic integrity. With sharp banter, footnotes that turn into feuds, and questions that make you rethink everything, this book is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining. A must-read for writers, skeptics, and anyone who loves a good intellectual spar.
