Announcements

New Library Commission Meeting Time: 5 p.m.

Library Commission meetings have been moved to 5:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. The next meeting is October 12.

Citizenship Prep Workshop

Saturday, Oct. 22 | 1 – 3 p.m.

Caroline Kennedy Library

Learn the requirements and benefits of becoming a U.S. citizen. An immigration attorney from the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit (IIMD) will review the basics of the naturalization process. 
Registration recommended: 313-791-3800. 
This is in partnership with Dearborn Heights Libraries and will take place at the Caroline Kennedy Library located at 24590 George St., Dearborn Heights.

Read by Grade Three Literacy Kits 

The Dearborn Public Library now offers literacy kits for families to use with children in preschool through third grade to practice skills identified in Michigan’s Read by Grade Three law. Each kit comes with a VOX talking book, along with a sheet explaining the featured skill, activity suggestions, and book suggestions.

Celebrating 100 Years of Service

To wrap up the month-long celebration of 100 years of service, an Open House will be held at the Henry Ford Centennial Library from 3–5 p.m. featuring dignitaries, library tours, raffles, and refreshments.
