Spring Art Gala
Age Group: Children, Teens, and Adults
Registration: Begins March 4. Register online below or call the Ware Shoals Community Library at
When:Tuesday, April 23: 6:00-7:30 PM
Our annual Art Gala will showcase the work of local artists from the Ware Shoals and surrounding area, and will feature an extensive range of unique pieces. Throughout the exhibition and reception, guests will be able to speak with the artist about their work and experiences.
Rules:

The art gala will begin Tuesday, April 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM.

All art pieces will remain on display for the week and must be picked up by the following Monday (April 29: 5:00PM) unless other arrangements have been made. Submissions that have not been picked up by the above date are subject to the Library's policy for donated materials.

Deadline for registration is Noon on Friday, April 19!

Hands-Only CPR Class
Age Group: Children, Teens, and Adults
When: Friday, March 8: 3:30-5:00 PM
About: A trainer from the Red Cross will be coming to the Ware Shoals Community Library to offer a Hands-Only CPR Class. While this class does not offer certification, it is a life saving tool that can allow you as a bystander to help a person survive a cardiac emergency.
No registration required.

Why wait on the Love Bug when you can bring the Love Bug to you? Come and sit a while as you use your imagination to bring your Love Bug friend to life!
March: Unicorn
Come twirl a bit of magic by dropping in and getting your very own unicorn. Make it as colorful as you want to. Give your unicorn an enchanting name, bring it by to show us, and we will see what magic we have in the treasure box for you
April: Rainclouds
Spring is in the air! Before we have beautiful flowers, we need a bit of rain. Can you make your own raincloud so our May flowers can bloom?
May: Flowers
May is bringing flowers! Pick a flower or two (or three) from our garden. It's all yours! Come and show us your bouquet and see what the treasure box has in store for you!

Picture It, Upcycle An Old Frame

Smartphones are awesome, especially for capturing moments with loved ones, friends, and even our pets! While they make a great wallpaper on your home screen, there's something special about framing it. We've gathered frames of different sizes and shapes along with upcycled books to make a one of a kind picture frame you'll love.

About: Your quest is to find seven books that spell L-I-B-R-A-R-Y. There will be a question that corresponds with each of the seven letters. The first person to unlock the clues and find the "library" will win bragging rights and a mystery prize.

Mental Health Awareness Month Q&A

May is a month for the return of warm spring days, and it's also Mental Health Awareness Month, and while flowers bloom, it's not sunny for everyone. Last year, over 30% of South Carolinians were afflicted with depression or anxiety, yet that number could be higher as there is still a stigma attached to getting treatment for mental health services. As May highlights mental health, join us as an outreach professional with the SC Department of Mental Health answers your questions with about mental health, tools and resources. Together, we can break the stigma!
