Discovering Puppetry in Other Cultures with
The Center for Puppetry Arts
 
Saturday, April 4 at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
 
Come celebrate Diversity in Action Day (Dia!) with The Center for Puppetry Arts at the Post Road Library! Watch puppets come to life during this entertaining and educational hands-on presentation. Learn about different puppet traditions from around the world as you explore the rich culture of puppetry. There will be plenty of opportunities for participation and play. Join us for one of two shows - at 11:15 or 1:15. Stay to make a puppet of your own and  other Dia crafts!
 
Space is limited to 100 guests per show, so come early for a spot!
 
All ages are welcome to attend and registration is not required.
Wendy Bennett Presents "Storytime Alive"

Monday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m.
 
How do characters make their way from the pages of children’s literature to the stage? Wendy’s musical theatre draws on examples from well-known children’s favorites in a fun, interactive program for all ages.  No registration required.

Touch a Truck

A variety of vehicles, from fire trucks and police cars to a Sawnee EMC cherry picker and a recycling truck will be visiting the library for your kids to see and TOUCH!  All ages welcome and no registration required.
Pirate and Fairy Party

Wednesday, April 8 at 1:15 p.m.
 
Do you love fairies or pirates? Wear your costumes and join us for a pirate and fairy party! We'll be making magic wands, pirate accessories, sand art, and more. For grades K-5. Afterward, stay to watch the Pirate Fairy movie!

A Doggone Storytime Featuring Biscuit

Join us for a barking good storytime featuring doggone good stories, music, and a special puppet show. Make sure to bring your cameras to snap a picture with our special guest, Biscuit!  This program is fun for the whole family. No registration required.
 
Martial Arts Stranger Danger & Bullying Programs

Preschoolers at 2:15 p.m.
Join Jesse from Pro Martial Arts as he uses the Armor Method to teach preschoolers to recognize stranger danger in a fun and interactive program that will leave them smarter but not scared!
For kids aged 3 to 5. Please register to attend.
 
Elementary Schoolers at 3:00 p.m.
Join Jesse from Pro Martial Arts in this fun and interactive program where he uses the Armor Method to teach kids to recognize bullies, defend themselves, carry themselves with confidence, and stop the cycle of bullying.  This program is for grades K-5.  Please register to attend.

Teen Team Trivia
 
Wednesday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m.
 
Post Road middle and high school students – come play team  trivia against teens from the Cumming and Sharon Forks branches via Skype!  No registration is required.      
Basic Self Defense for Teens
 
Sunday, April 12 at 3:45 p.m.       
        
Jesse from Pro Martial Arts is back with his fun and interactive program using the Armor System to teach teenagers basic self defense skills. Be strong, be brave. Learn ways teens can stay safe or get themselves out of scary situations!
