Library Journal Review
Knitting for babies is perennially popular for two reasons: baby stuff is small, so it knits quickly; and baby stuff is cute, so it's fun to make. The latest collaboration between the editors at Sixth&Spring and Cascade Yarns features 60 more knits for babies, including garments, accessories, and blankets. The patterns incorporate a variety of techniques, from colorwork to lace and cables, and most are graded for advanced beginners and beyond. Standouts include a girls' jacket with trompe l'oeil short row panels that give a flared look, a modern baby blanket with asymmetrical stripes, and a stuffed toy of a mouse driving a race car. The garments are divided fairly evenly between girls, boys, and unisex, and the featured yarns are easy-care-ideal for baby knitting. VERDICT Knitters with babies and toddlers in their lives will appreciate this lively and diverse collection of projects. © Copyright 2015.
