Booklist Review
Although crochet jewelry is not new, Israeli artist Zadock gives it a different twist through her delicate earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Bangles, for instance, often begin with an already fabricated brass or metal cuff. Others incorporate found items or fabricated chains in their architecture. At the outset, Zadock telegraphs her intent that the reader-crafter not be rigid in following directions. Her materials and basic techniques cover what any novice needs. Tips point out that, for one thing, following a specific gauge or using a particular crochet hook is not necessary. The more than 30 designs tend to the usual: a multistring of pearls, turquoise hoops (worked on already established metal findings), and a mixed-metals-medley ring prove that simple is best. All patterns include, besides step-by-step instructions, photographs, experience-level ratings, and lists of needed materials and tools.--Jacobs, Barbara Copyright 2010 Booklist
