Summer Reading Kickoff Events Saturday, June 1

All locations have planned activities to unleash the fun! Join us to celebrate the official start of the 2024 Summer Reading Program. If you haven't signed your kids up already, it's a great day to stop in and get them started. They can explore stories and earn prizes for reading through July 31! Prizes are earned at 1 hour, 5 hours, 10 hours, 15 hours, and 20 hours of reading.

Going on Vacation? How to Pause Requests (Holds)

Going on a vacation this summer? If you have open requests (holds) and will be unable to pick up items for a period of time, we encourage you to pause your requests and select a date you would like them to be active again. You will resume your spot at the beginning of the line as soon as you return.

Circulating Sound Concert Series

Join us on Sunday afternoons at Central Library for monthly concerts featuring a wide variety of local musicians. In June we welcome Mariachi Sol Jalisciense and in July Rock E Bassoon.

The Indianapolis Public Library re-opened its Glendale Branch on March 30, 2024 at its new location at 3660 E 62nd St. The 24,800 square-foot branch is projected to welcome 225,000 – 250,000 patron visitors annually. The Branch has the second-largest collection of physical materials within The Indianapolis Public Library system, after Central Library, including various titles in Spanish, French, Korean, and a collection of Braille books.
