March: Historic Entrance Stairs project – Temporary Public Entrance

The Stevens Memorial Library’s Historic Entrance Stairways Project is underway. The Historic Entrance is closed for the duration of the project. The Temporary Public Entrance is on Greene Street.  The adjacent lawn is a construction zone, fenced for safety.  The Library hours remain the same.   What’s happening? The Historic Entrance Stairways are an important feature of the Library’s façade, part of its 1907 construction. Some repairs have been done over the years, however, the current issues with the stairs and brickwork require more than a repair this time.  The completed project maintains the facade, reusing the granite steps.  For more information on the project, visit the Historic Steps project here.

 

4/18 Life Sized Candyland

Thursday, April 18th from 10:30AM – 7:30PM

Families can join us to play Candyland where YOU are the game pieces! Our “game board” will be set up in the community meeting room on Thursday from 10:30am-7:30 pm. No registration required, but there may be a wait if traffic is high! All ages are welcome!  Continued »

4/20 Mending Workshop

Saturday, April 20th from 2PM-4PM

Join us for a mending workshop with Caroline Read from Lowell Makes! Learn new skills on how to mend clothing and other items. Some tools will be provided and attendants are encouraged to bring their own clothing or items to mend. No experience necessary. Registration recommended, drop-ins welcome.

OverDrive/Libby Lending Period Update

Starting today (3/29), the default lending period in OverDrive/Libby will be 14 days. Patrons will still have the option to select 21 days or 7 days when borrowing!

3/8 NEW Drop-In Tech Help Hours

Do you have a new phone, tablet or other device? Or, one you would like learn more about it?

Drop-In Tech Help is now available on Wednesdays from 10:30am – 12:30pm and 6pm – 8pmMeet in the library Reading Room for personalized technology assistance. Bring your device, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc. and your questions! All skill levels welcome.

3/15 Students Art Exhibit: North Andover Reads 2024

Thank you to our North Andover students, Library Media Specialists and Art Teachers for all your efforts for North Andover Reads 2024. There is still time to visit the students’ beautiful gardens art exhibit in person in March. Or, visit their exhibit online  and the booklists remain online, too.

MVLC Mobile App: Apple & Android available now

MVLC library users now have their choice of the MVLC Mobile App iOS version is available to download from the Apple App Store  or the MVLC Mobile App Android version and may be downloaded from the Google Play Store.  Users who have set up the previous mobile app on their devices will need to uninstall the old app and then go to the appropriate store to download the new app.

OverDrive Log-in update

OverDrive now asks MVLC library patrons to enter their Library Card PIN when logging into the Libby app or on the OverDrive website.
