The July/August selection is Lucky Boy by Shanthi Sekaran. The novel focuses on the overlapping lives of two women in Berkeley: Soli, a pregnant 18-year-old who enters the U.S. illegally from Mexico, and Kavya, an Indian American woman who is struggling to have a baby with her husband. The two stories converge around a baby, the "lucky boy,” of the title.

This month, check out the following titles that share similar themes with Lucky Boy.
