M.A.C. Concert: Anthony Trionfo, flute /Albert Cano Smit, piano
The Port Washington Public Library's Music Advisory Council presents flutist Anthony Trionfo with pianist Albert Cano Smit.
Known for his “soaring flute… where dance and song become possible again” (The Boston Musical Intelligencer), Anthony Trionfo is a “breezily virtuosic” (The New York Times) musician actively building one of today’s most exciting musical careers. In recital, Anthony presents engaging, fun, and thoughtful programs for any audience.
A musician who has been praised as “a moving young poet” (Le Devoir), Spanish/Dutch pianist Albert Cano Smit enjoys a growing international career on the orchestral, recital, and chamber music stages. Noted for his captivating performances, storytelling quality, and nuanced musicality, the First Prize winner of the 2019 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions has appeared as a soloist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, the San Diego Symphony, and many more.

Books for Dessert
Books for Dessert is a book club for adults over 21 with intellectual disabilities, who live or work in and around Port Washington. Read about Books for Dessert in American Libraries Magazine.
Books for Dessert collaborates with groups such as AHRC, Community Mainstreaming Associates (CMA), YAI, and The Nicholas Center.
There are three separate groups that meet weekly. Two groups meets on Monday Mornings from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., and the other meets on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The groups meet to read, discuss, and socialize, while enjoying some coffee and cookies.

Advanced Beginner Guitar Lessons with Reno Bracchi
Join us for advanced beginner guitar lessons with PWPL's own Reno Bracchi. Classes will be on five Mondays: April 29, May 6, May 13, May 20 (no class on May 27) and June 3 – all classes are from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Learn advanced playing techniques and some well-known songs. This series is tailored for those who have already grasped scales and basic chords. Reno will assess your skills to see if you're ready for the advanced beginner level. To join, you'll need to bring an acoustic guitar, be a right-handed player, and have very short nails on your left hand. Open to PWPL cardholders aged 14 and above. Registration begins on Tuesday, March 12. Register at pwpl.org/events. Want to learn how to play guitar from step one? An absolute beginner series is coming Fall 2024!

Cricut Craft: Bouquet of Flowers
Join us in making a paper flower bouquet with our Cricut Maker 3! This is a great way to learn more about the Cricut and enjoy some crafting. This is a “bring your own device” program. Please take some time to install the Cricut Design Space software before the program. Anyone 8 and up is welcome, but we do ask that participants under the age of 11 be accompanied by an adult. All supplies will be provided. Registration opens on May 1st.
There are two classes being held for the Cricut Craft: Flower Bouquet, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR BOTH.
Please note: Chromebooks are not compatible with the Cricut Design Space software, so will not work for this program. Laptops (both Mac and PC) and iPads work well.
