May The Fourth be with you! Join us at the Twin Falls Public Library on May 4th for an intergalactic adventure at our Star Wars Movie Marathon and Family LEGO Build.

Starting at 10:30 am, we'll start the day with a screening of a timeless trilogy that has captured the imaginations of fans across the galaxy. Watch the epic saga unfold on our big screen in the Program Room as our heroes embark on a journey to save the galaxy from the clutches of darkness.

But that's not all! While the movies play, craft your own creations inspired by the characters and scenes from the films (or anything else you're inspired to create!) at our Family LEGO Build from 10:30 am - 1:30 pm in the next room! Don't worry - you'll still be able to see and hear the movies while you build.

Join us at the Twin Falls Public Library on May 21st at 6:30 PM for this special presentation by Idaho Power! Learn how to save money on your summer power bills with energy efficiency tips along with with programs like Budget Pay, Levelized Pay, and Autopay. You'll also learn about recreational opportunities offered by Idaho Power Parks, camping, and boating, and learn about the new Swan Falls Powerhouse Museum south of Meridian!

Join us at the Twin Falls Public Library for this Fair Housing Basics workshop, in partnership with the Intermountain Fair Housing Council & Idaho Legal Aid! At this workshop you will learn about your rights as a tenant under the Fair Housing Act as well as other current topics in fair housing. This 4 hour workshop will take place in the Program Room on Wednesday, May 15th, from 1 PM - 5 PM.

About the Presenters:

Mike McCarthy graduated from law school at the University of Idaho in 1985. Since that time Mike has practiced at Idaho Legal Aid Services Inc. in Twin Falls. Our office serves the Magic Valley. The focus of my practice has been in the areas of evictions, the Fair Housing Act, Medicaid, Social Security disability, guardianships and domestic violence related cases.

Peg Richards joined IFHC in October 2022 as the Education Project Director. Her background includes working with people experiencing homelessness, oversight of a low-income housing program, advocating for the disenfranchised, and educating our community about the experiences of people with whom she has worked with for the past two decades. Peg has contributed to the IFHC team by creating curriculum for Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, creating our Inclusive Community & Construction and Design updated guides, oversees our statewide media outreach, and other educational materials. And is currently providing multiple opportunities across the state, to ensure all Idahoans understand housing rights, how to advocate for their rights, along with Fair Housing laws, hot topics, and best practices.
