IV Quad Opens
Makers, Makers, unite! Washoe County Library System is launching a new makerspace this month with the introduction of Incline Village Library’s IV Quad. (See the schedule here.)
Like the Quad at the Downtown Reno Library, the IV Quad is a place for everyone to make, collaborate, learn, and share. Patrons will be able to explore and create on maker equipment including a 1.25 inch button maker, a sewing machine, multiple virtual reality systems (Oculus Go and Quest), and a Taz 6 3D printer.
Along with the maker equipment, you can drop by the IV Quad for technology help such as downloading free e-books through the library’s Libby app, or you can try some of the featured equipment or start working on an ongoing project.
Washoe County Library System’s maker services, including the Quad, Idea Boxes, and 3D printing, are designed to provide access and expertise to help patrons gain confidence in their ability to learn and create. We believe hands-on learning is a vital piece in the education of today’s students, and the library provides the tools to help them succeed in school and beyond. Our vision is that all Washoe County residents benefit from the library’s support of literacy and self-education.
