Event Details

An entertaining and thought-provoking evening awaits as you learn about the power of Black creativity and culture as well as the early history of Black settlers in Canada and the dynamics of racism. Local artist Nicole Alexander, who grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, will display and discuss her paintings being influenced by her love of Caribbean dance, poetry, calypso music and from the beauty of her culture and heritage. Rob Green, a sixth generation descendant of slaves, will then take attendees on a journey through his family’s history and his own personal experiences using both song and spoken word.

Cancellation of Program by the Library

·        Registrants will be notified of a cancelled program as early as possible.

·        All fees paid will be refunded.

Cancellation of Registration by the Registrant

·        Registrants will notify the Library immediately if they are unable to attend. 

·        Cancellations received less than one week before the program date will not receive a refund. 

·        Registrants who miss or forget a program will not receive a refund. 

Photography/Recording

·        The Library is a public space. Attendance at Library Programs and events constitutes consent to be photographed for County of Brant Public Library publicity purposes. 

·        Names of individuals will be used in photograph captions only with express written consent on a Photo Permission Form.
