Top 10 Things to Do in May
May is often referred to as the bridge between spring and summer, and at CALS, we’re taking advantage of that and heading outside. Whether you take advantage of the water view at Maumelle Library or watch the birds (and squirrels) at Fletcher Library, there’s beauty around our branches. Grab a book or an item from our “Library of Things,” and enjoy the outside of our libraries before the summer heat is in full swing.
VIDEO: Tim Alberta, Author of The Kingdom, The Power, and The Glory
CALS is proud to share our conversation with Tim Alberta from his May 9th appearance at the Ron Robinson Theater. A staff writer for The Atlantic, Tim follows up his New York Times bestseller American Carnage with this rigorously reported, and deeply personal examination of the divisions that threaten to destroy the American evangelical movement with The Kingdom, The Power, and The Glory.
VIDEO: Tommy Orange, Author of There There and Wandering Stars
CALS presents our conversation with Tommy Orange, bestselling author of There There and Wandering Stars. Tommy is joined by author and moderator Andrea L. Rogers to discuss writing, native identities, the origins of There There, superpowers, tying a tie, the criminal opportunities presented by a powwow, and more. This CALS Speakers Series event is in honor of Rabbi Ira Sanders.
